Raise your hand if you are a low-key, type B SLP? Did you notice how much that rhymes ?
Anyways, I am, for the most part, a type B SLP. I love to relax, hang out and try to not stress about too many things. I am also a serious procrastinator!
If you are like me, there are definitely a few things that you can do this summer to get ready for the school year…but we all know that all these things will happen the week before school starts. Right?
So, I created a fun list of activities that you can do throughout the summer! Of course, I included a few ‘to-dos’ for you to do during that last week of summer…you know, when you realize you should have done them months ago?
Summer Activities *Minus the Last Week of Summer
Type B SLPs are great at this one, but just in case! Take one day this summer and do absolutely nothing! If you decide to do something, make it a massage, pedicure, manicure or all of the above! I know you know how to relax!
Do something that you couldn’t do over the school year because you didn’t have time! Read a book, binge watch all the episodes of your favorite show, rent a movie you missed, etc.
Buy some cheap, speech therapy games, craft supplies and/or activities. The best places to find these items are garage sales, mom 2 mom sales, and the Salvation Army. Type B SLPs, don’t worry…this isn’t planning! It’s shopping!
WRITE A NOTE TO YOURSELF
This job can be extremely draining and it’s easy to lose motivation. Write yourself a ‘pick me up’ or inspirational note. Use this next school year to remind yourself of why you are doing this and what your goals are for the year. Download this free template!
MOST IMPORTANT! Enjoy every day with your family and/or friends. Once the school year begins, it becomes more difficult to make time. Make sure to take the time to enjoy them!
The Last Week of Summer *No more time to procrastinate!
Here are a few things that you can do the last week of summer to get yourself ready for the new year!
BACK TO SCHOOL CHECKLIST
These checklists are a must for me! Use them to get yourself ready for the year without any additional summer work (you’re welcome)! Download them here!
